Taal Vista Lodge Hotel Stay Review, Staying in Tagaytay, Food Delivery and My View from the Premiere Suite!

It's been a while since I went back to Taal Vista Hotel. It's THE hotel of my childhood, you see. Almost every year circa early 90s, we would "go up" during Easter and play all day on the grounds below (running around, painting eggs and looking for Easter eggs hehe). We would also go for several rounds of horseback riding. Today, a lot has changed although there is still a place there for families and the magnificent Taal view is still there. Maybe I've grown up quite a bit too. =) Let me take you through my Taal Vista stay just this month.

"In 1937, the Zamoras built the Taal Vista Lodge along Ilong Kastila - a stretch of flatland perched atop an incline, which people say resembled a nose."

I booked for a Premiere room and got upgraded to a Premiere Suite!

The difference: location, room size and amenities. I'm not exactly sure where the Premiere Rooms with a view are. My guess is to the left of the hotel or here to the right away from the pool.

As for me, it was a bit of a walk to the right,

past the pool

and up through the stairs (or elevator) to my sweet suite! haha.

Okay, so the main difference is the room size and amenities. I have 2 fully-functioning airconditioning units for starters haha.

I have a powder room (separate toilet near the door) for guests.

I have a sala (living room, very comfy couch),

mini ref with complimentary 2 bottles of water

and TV (don't think it works though, I used the other TV).

Beyond the divider (which you can close if you find the kids outside too noisy), there's a huge bed that can fit 4 me's. =)

There's a working station, another Cignal cable TV (has radio in some channels too) and the whole room has WIFI =) I spent the whole day working on the big bed with uninterrupted connection!

For the amenities, there's a robe, pair of slippers and a safety box available.

The main bathroom was spacious with kits.

There's a tub, towels and excellent hot & cold shower.

Who wouldn't want to stay in, right? The main plus for me is really the WIFI. They have one of the best. While in the room, I was able to publish 2 posts and watch 2 full movies hahahaha. I was even able to order Yellow Cab delivery through the ClicktheCity App. Just a tip though for this, order early then you would have to go out near the gate to get and pay for it (accepts credit cards). No problem because the building of this suite is near the gate.

You can also buy these uber sweet bananas called Senoritas from Tagaytay (bought for P80, one whole big tangkay) before you go here.

If the Langka (jackfruit, bought for P70) is in season, you can buy ready-to-eat ones and just eat away.

There's a McDo in front of the hotel and Mushroom Burger is just a few minutes walk away. Maybe you can stay in the hotel to eat too. You can also drive (lots of parking space) and just come back.

You can walk in the late afternoon or morning to the view deck.

On a beautiful day, you can see the Taal Volcano. I think the sun sets here also (not from my room coz i got upgraded nga and I'm ok with it haha).

My View:

taal-vista-tagaytay.jpg

I stayed on a weekend. On the room itself - I really appreciated the extra suite space, the divider and very big bed. I super liked that the whole room is WIFI-ed, actually the whole hotel. My only concern is the noise from children running around near my room (on the same floor and I can hear them outside from the pool in the living room). But I found the solution by closing the divider and occupying the bed room =) There are around 2 outlets in the bedroom. My pet peeve haha - curtains can't be closed fully so there's a little light in the morning. Also didn't like the breakfast much so I think that can be improved as well. If you want to swim, go at around 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. when you check in haha. Kids already checked out ;) Best to stay on a weekday also hehe. I'm looking forward to the opening of the Sky Ranch.
