Crystal Jade Dimsum Buffet Plus Dinner 翡翠上海美食馬尼拉 in Greenhills! + Giveaway

After that filling Weekend Dimsum Buffet from Crystal Jade Dining IN BGC (which is still ongoing) comes another Dimsum Buffet Plus from its sister Crystal Jade Shanghai Delight here in Greenhills (yey)! Just think of it this way, you go to BGC for the unlimited hakaw (shrimp dumplings) for afternoon snack on the weekends while you go to Greenhills for unlimited xiao long bao (pork dumplings) for weekday dinners ;) I'm so glad I was brought up enjoying Cantonese food and dimsum haha. With the CJ Shanghai Delight Dimsum Buffet Plus deal this month, I was able to reminisce my student times in Beijing too for some reason because the some dishes.

We were given a CJ Dim Sum Buffet Menu List. We just ticked off what we wanted and what we can eat first. The dishes will be cooked right after. Everything above the line is unlimited and the last call is at 9:15 p.m. =)

The only appetizer in the list was the Cold Cucumber with Minced Garlic in Sesame Oil. It warmed my tummy for the feast =) It's refreshing and has a kick to it because of the fresh garlic bits.

There's a bit of a wait because the dishes are freshly prepared so make full use of the free WiFi

and order your drink. Free flowing iced tea or Free flowing hot tea is already included in the P488+ rate. If you'd like something else like us, you can order Watermelon Shake, Avocado with Sago Shake, Wang Lo Kat, etc. on your own.

Watermelon Shake, Avocado with Sago Shake

Congee with Salted Pork & Preserved Egg is also included in the unli list so it's really not just dimsum you get ;) One thing that's different about the Crystal Jade congee is that the rice itself is already full of flavor.

There's also a Noodle dish with Spring Onion Oil that you can take with or without the soup in the list. The broth is infused with spring onion oil and I liked putting the shallots (on top) with every bite.

The Crystal Jade favorite is actually the Steamed Soupy Pork Dumpling Xiao Long Bao (it's good)

but I found a dish that trumped this hehe. I liked the Pork Dumpling with Hot Chili Sauce most because the filling inside is the same (just without the soup). It's moist and that spicy & tangy sauce is just superb that I left me stuck on that dish the whole time haha =D But I wanted to taste the other stuff so I'm already planning on going back just for that this month. Hehehe. It reminded me of the Sichuan Dumplings I used to eat at the Golden Tripod in Beijing..

My Favorite! Pork Dumpling with Hot Chili Sauce

The Steamed Pork & Shrimp Dumpling with Crab Roe or Sio Mai is also available at the CJ Dining IN! It was the dish I enjoyed the most there because they use pure meat with crab roe on top. Gela said that you can tell that dimsum is fresh when it doesn't stick to the bottom of the baskets.

You can order unlimited servings of Deep-fried Spring Roll (shredded pork, cabbage, mushrroms),

Steamed Spare Ribs with Black Beans Sauce (has gabi/taro bits, a bit fatty),

Steamed Vegetable Dumpling (onions, cabbage and carrots inside, the others said it tasted a bit like wasabi),

Minced Pork Dumpling with Spring Bean (almost taste like the xiao long bao without soup),

Pan-fried Shanghai Pork Bun (it was a favorite among the others, a bit dry for me because it was already cold so eat it hot),

Pan-fried Carrot Cake with Dried Shrimp & Preserved Meat (they also have this at CJ Dining IN, I liked the steamed one there better),

and Flour Roll Steamed or Deep-Fried (it's called Mantou, deep-fried is best and dipped in condensed milk hehe, if you let it get cold then it's good for dessert too).

Below the line is the Dimsum Buffet PLUS Menu. The deal behind the PLUS is that you can just add P100 per person (who wants) for unli fried rice and one viand in the list. Only the ones who want to add on the table can add and you can also order other a la carte dishes.

You can choose between Yang Chow Fried Rice

and Fried Rice with Chicken & Ham. Take note of the single serving size of the viand. I personally think this is already enough. The Sauteed Squid with Brocolli was the lightest and healthiest option for me... if you can take more...

Or you can also choose from these: Pan-fried Sliced Beef with Scallions (around 3-4 slices of beef),

Deep Fried Chicken with Dried Chili and Peanuts (I used to eat this in Beijing too hehe and contrary to what the people in the table said, it's really cooked that way (fried) with lots of scary looking chili haha),

Sauteed Diced String Beans with Minced Pork served with Pancake (it's served differently like a pita, with Chinese sausage)

and Sauteed Shrimp Kung Pao Style (one of the favorites of my tablemates).

So there you have it! Remember: No leftovers! We were delighted when we did a taste test of the new Taro Pastry dish that their chefs came up with =) They will probably introduce it soon after they've perfected it!
