Behind the Scenes, Zambales Pop Talk TV Shoot! Crystal Beach Resort, Pop na Pop!

It was a long, long day filled with surprises, nerves, bloopers and excitement. The GMA TV11 hit local TV show Pop Talk took 3 people to Zambales as travel reviewers! I learned so much and actually got to experience the life behind the camera, something that I don’t normally think of when I watch the final edited versions on television. I was there as a traveler and I was present to the wealth of wonders that my passion for travel has taken me. Above all, I met another set of friends who share the same interests. I also took home wonderful memories that I will probably never forget anytime soon.

Here are some behind the scenes from the shoot =) The call time was really early at 3 a.m. I met my fellow co-reviewer Vince on the van and we talked about travel non-stop until we were half-way and realized we still hadn’t slept haha.

Just a boat ride away from Punta de Uian Resort was Nagsasa Cove, Anawangin Cove and Capones Island.

Mental note for next time: The black sand was too hot on my feet. Black sand = absorbs more heat than lighter-colored sand.

Time flew by so fast and I was on the board - surfing for the first time.

I never would have conquered this fear without the wonderful kuyas and this opportunity at Crystal Beach Resort.

I got on that board and surfed like there's no tomorrow. Without this Pop Talk challenge, I wouldn't even have gone into the water and rode the waves - at least not anytime soon.

We got to the White Rock Resort in the evening and we didn't get to try much of the activities. I believe it would have made a difference in the review if we got there sooner, got to try the artificial surf pool or if we stayed overnight. We played some billiards, bowling and had some time left for an awesome activity - night swimming (with kayak and shooting hoops).

When I look back, the best moments were spent not thinking about how I look like on TV and what people would say.

It's when I spent a few minutes snorkeling and sitting down on the rock formation in Caponesgrazing my shin in the corals, jumping in the pool at Punta de Uian Resort and bruising my foot again, having a good old Filipino lunch at Crystal Beach Resort,

learning to surf with the Coaches and learning to let go of the nerves.

It's standing on the board for the first time and many more times after that, tumbling over and over the soft sand and still managing to smile and getting back up again.

It's slumping and resting on White Rock Resort's big bed after a full day even for a while, having some carefree night swimming time with my new friends at the 4 feet pool, talking about travel and adventures the whole day and feeling groggy but happy at 3 a.m. even if the shoot in Zambales ended at 12 midnight. Haha.
